How we start

You’re not buying a ticket to a call center. You’re hiring a small studio that lives in spreadsheets, documents, and email copy. A typical first step looks like this:

  1. Brief. You tell us goal, audience, deadline, and any files we should know about.
  2. Scope. We reply with what we’d deliver, a price band or fixed quote, and timeline. For steady work across spreadsheets, documents, and email, we often propose a contract desk so scope, hours, and billing stay aligned month to month.
  3. Go. Deposit if needed, then we build, review with you, and hand off clean files.

Pricing

We’re a small shop. No hidden runaround on the basics. If you have recurring needs, start with contract desk plans below — they front-load clarity on hours, priority, and invoice shape. One-off or overflow work still maps cleanly to packages or hourly.

Contract desk plans

A contract is a signed monthly engagement: you get a reserved block of our time, faster intake when something lands on your desk, and one predictable line item on your books. It is built for teams that touch models, narratives, and outreach in the same quarter — not for hiding fees; every tier spells out what is included before you sign.

Why a contract wins for you

  • Budget you can plan around — fixed monthly fee for the included hours; fewer surprise purchase orders when the board asks for “one more scenario.”
  • Priority in the queue — we hold capacity for contract clients so turnaround reflects your deadlines, not whoever emailed last.
  • One relationship across deliverables — the same studio voice on the workbook, the proposal, and the campaign email; less re-explaining context each time.
  • Cleaner procurement story — single SOW, defined tier, optional quarterly review to adjust hours or focus areas without re-bidding every small ask.
  • Rollover where it helps — light months do not automatically burn value; unused included hours can roll one month when we agree that up front (caps apply by tier).
  • Room for growth — overflow beyond the block bills at contract rates (below walk-in hourly) so you are not penalized for a busy month.

Desk retainer

$1,250 / mo

7 hours included

Best when you want a dependable lane for fixes, short decks, and doc passes without opening a new quote each time.

  • First response within one business day on new requests.
  • Up to 2 hours unused may roll into the next month (by agreement).
  • Additional hours in-term: $165 / hr (vs $180 walk-in).

Steward program

From $4,000 / mo

Custom hours + mix

Named availability windows, blended spreadsheet + document + email work, and milestones spelled out in the SOW. We quote after a short discovery pass.

  • Tailored hour bank and deliverable mix (e.g. model refresh + narrative + sequence).
  • Escalation path and meeting cadence matched to your governance needs.
  • Rollover and overage rules set in writing per engagement.

All contract tiers are month-to-month unless we sign a longer term for a discount you approve. Taxes and third-party costs stay outside the fee, same as project work. Ask for a sample SOW when you reach out — we are happy to map your workload to a tier.

Hourly & day rates

For one-off work, revisions beyond a package, or anything outside your contract block, we bill in 15-minute increments after any agreed minimum. Hourly is priced for senior execution — not discount marketplace rates.

$180 / hr · blended rate (most work)

If the numbers don’t line up, we’ll say so — and we can often scope a fixed package instead.

  • Rush turnaround (under 48 hours when we’re not already booked): +25% on affected hours.
  • Half-day block (4 hours): often used for working sessions or intensive edits. We’ll quote a single number before we start.

Package starting points

These are typical ranges for defined deliverables. We’ll confirm a fixed price or a not-to-exceed cap after a short scoping call or email thread before you pay anything beyond a deposit.

Spreadsheet sprint

$450–$950

One focused workbook: structure, core formulas, one “how to use it” pass, and one revision round. Assumptions noted on a README-style tab.

  • Examples: budget model, simple forecast, grant totals, inventory starter.

Document polish

$350–$750

One document (roughly 3–15 pages equivalent): outline tightening, voice alignment, formatting, and one revision round.

  • Examples: proposal section, SOP, policy draft, grant narrative slice.

Email starter kit

$500–$1,000

A small set of reusable pieces or one short sequence — templates, subject-line options, and brand-consistent tone. One revision round included.

  • Examples: onboarding sequence, donor update set, cold-outreach batch (with compliance in mind).

Deck refresh

$650–$1,400

Slide deck (roughly 10–25 slides): layout cleanup, narrative flow, speaker-note pass, and one revision round. You provide raw content or an old deck.

  • Examples: pitch deck, board update, training deck.

Larger or mixed projects

Multi-deliverable work (e.g. model + deck + proposal) is quoted as a single scope with milestones. We’ll spell out what’s in phase 1 vs later so you’re not buying a black box.

Engagement shape How we price it
Contract desk (multi-month rhythm) Monthly tier: included hours, priority intake, predictable invoice; overflow at contract rates
Fixed deliverable with clear boundaries Fixed fee + change order if scope shifts
Hour-bank retainer (flexible) Hours/month at standard hourly; simple rollover by agreement when you do not need the full contract bundle
Exploration / discovery only Half-day cap or hourly with a not-to-exceed — you pick

Payment & minimums

  • Contracts: Billed monthly in advance on a signed SOW; starting mid-cycle can be prorated by agreement. Tier changes or cancellation with 30 days’ written notice unless we locked a longer term for a discount you chose.
  • Deposits: 50% upfront for fixed quotes over $800; balance on delivery unless we agree milestones.
  • Invoices: Net 15 for returning clients in good standing; otherwise due on receipt unless we’ve said otherwise in writing.
  • Small jobs: Under ~$350 total, we usually run hourly with a 2-hour minimum so admin doesn’t eat the project.

What’s not in those numbers: third-party software subscriptions, stock imagery, printing, or filing fees. Taxes: we’ll add applicable sales tax where required. If something will cost extra, we’ll say so before you commit — not after the invoice lands.

Next: send a message with your timeline — we will map you to a contract tier, a package, or hourly, and say plainly which fits best.
