Entering pedigree information

Overview

Under Kennel → Pedigree, you supply a kennel animal id and depth to load a tree from existing sire/dam relationships. Accuracy depends on clean animal records and litters—garbage in flows up the tree.

Best practices

• Resolve duplicate animals before building deep trees.
• Match registration strings to real paperwork.
• Use notes for uncertain ancestors instead of inventing ids.
• Cross-check parents shown on litters against the animals they reference.

Practical note

Pedigree duplicates confusion faster than dogs duplicate puppies.
