Katherine Orlowski, QTSI

Project Engineer

Katies primary project responsibilities include managing the quality of CKs document production, including review of data generated during testing programs for completeness and accuracy. She also assists in protocol and report preparation. In addition, Katie will also help with testing programs and provide analysis of samples. She is currently a QSTI for Groups I, II, III, and IV. Katies background includes earning a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The University of Massachusetts. After graduating from UMass, she worked with CK Environmental for 4 years where she aided in stack testing programs from a variety of sources. Following a two year break from stack testing, Katie returned to CK Environmental to enhance CKs quality control procedures leading to AETB accreditation. She is currently enrolled in the MBA program at UMass Dartmouth.

    Michael Unterweger, QTSI

    Project Manager

    Michael Unterweger has ten years of experience building, operating, and auditing continuous monitoring systems. He schedules and supervises source assessment services: certifications, custom designs and installations, cylinder gas audits (CGAs), maintenance and repairs: cleaning & refurbishing, opacity monitor calibrations, particulate matter (PM) determination, relative accuracy test audits and visible emissions opacity determination. Mr. Unterweger earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marine engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

      Karen Ciriello

      Office Manager

      Ms. Ciriello has nineteen years of experience in administrative management, collections, customer service, and human resource management. Prior to joining CK Environmental, Inc., Ms. Ciriello worked with financial institutions such as Bank Boston and Putnam Investments. Ms. Ciriello earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

        Jimmy Phong Ho, QSTI

        Environmental Specialist

        Jimmy Phong Ho has six years of experience stack testing and analyzing air quality. Mr. Ho regularly performs U.S. EPA source sampling methods as well as the EPA methods for continuous emissions monitoring. Mr. Ho is a proficient gas chromatograph operator and frequently determines on-site THC and methane, non-methane hydrocarbons (MNHHCs) concentrations. Mr. Ho earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marine safety environmental protection from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

          Kevin Kelley, QSTI

          Project Manager & Senior Engineer

          Kevin Kelley has twenty-five years of experience in environmental testing and engineering. He provides technical oversight and management for testing programs on a wide variety of emissions sources including power generation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, surface coating, and landfills. Mr. Kelley also provides asbestos management services, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, environmental site assessments, air permitting, air pollution control system evaluations, environmental and safety training, and fugitive emissions control consulting. Mr. Kelley has a M.S. in Applied Management from Lesley College and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering Technology from Norwich University.

            Stephen J. Phillips, QSTI

            Senior Project Manager

            Stephen Phillips has thirty years of air quality testing and consulting experience. He regularly manages emissions compliance projects for fossil fuel fired power plants, municipal waste combustors, medical and pathological waste incinerators, and various controlled and uncontrolled manufacturing processes. In addition to working at over a hundred facilities throughout the United States, he has completed test programs in Asia. Mr. Phillips holds degrees in Science & Technology from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute and has attended numerous seminars in environmental science, including: new source performance standards (NSPS) emissions testing, nitrous oxide (NOx) reasonable achievable control technology (RACT), organic compound emissions testing, and U.S. EPA Title V emissions inventories.

              Michael F. Kelley, QSTI

              President & Cofounder

              Michael Kelley has fifteen years of experience in air quality engineering. Mr. Kelley’s responsibilities include scheduling and overseeing projects for continuous emissions monitoring audits, electronic data reports (EDR), NOx budget plans, NPDES water discharge tests and permits, and monitoring system audits and repairs. Mr. Kelley has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from Suffolk University.
